I can’t remember the last time I sat in a theatre, not knowing what I was about to see. I’d followed the development of Prometheus online, watching the trailers, looking at screenshots, thrilled at the idea of Ridley Scott returning to the universe he so memorably created in Alien, but I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would Prometheus be just another Alien sequel, or would it be something completely different, a new mythology built on a small movie that became an accidental franchise? As it turned out … kind of both, and kind of neither.
